MTMM owner, Matt Mackay-Smith, has been racing since he was 8 years old and has enjoyed many championships in different forms of racing. For the Mackay-Smith family, racing has always been a family-affair. Matt was introduced to motosports by his father Al, and grew up enjoying the race track with his siblings and parents. The tradition now continues with his wife, Nicole, as the head of his Pitt Crew and their two children, Linden and Gracynn, as passionate spectators. Matt is also often supported and joined at the track by his parents, in-laws, and good friends who all help make his racing possible.
MTMM team members, Brad and Jim Gillis both enjoy racing on the dirt tracks around western Canada. Brad has recently built a brand new late model car. He has used a lot of new technology on this car to be ahead of the competition. It has already shown great results having only been on track a handful of times so far. Winning and racing runs in the Gillis family!
Matt Mackay-Smith currently campaigns a turbocharged Suzuki Hayabusa pro mod motorcycle in CMDRA, North West Dragbike and Western Pro Extreme series. He is the four-time CMDRA pro mod class champion. He is hoping to continue his hot streak into the 2024 racing season. His personal best pass to date is 6.56 at 206 mph in the 1/4 mile. He prides himself in having a bike that almost always goes down the track in a consistent manner. Matt’s father, Al Mackay-Smith, and father-in-law, Roger Bouchard, also drag race and campaign a 1964 Nova wagon in the super pro class of the NHRA and a turbo charged KZ Kawasaki in the superbike class of CMDRA respectively. Matt’s son Linden Mackay-Smith also started racing in the Jr.Dragster class and at some events we have 3 generations all competing on the same weekend!
